FAQ_What about licensing

What about licensing?

Licensing requirements to practice professional massage therapy vary according to where you plan to practice.

The state of Missouri requires that you pass the National Certification Exam (MTTI's National Certification Exam pass rate is 81% - well above the national average of 74%!). Missouri also requires that you complete a course of study not less than 500 hours in length with a minimum of 300 hours of theory and practice, 100 hours of science, 50 hours of business, law and ethics, and 50 hours of electives.

In Kansas, licensing is governed by individual cities. We advise you to call the City Hall in the city in which you intend to practice to find out specifically what that city requires and to request a copy of the city ordinances governing massage therapy.
